Kraft vs. White vs. Full-Color Mailer Boxes: Which to Choose
Most brands land on one of three decoration paths for their mailer box: a kraft stamp, a white gloss finish, or full-color CMYK print. Each fits a different logo, budget, and brand feel.
Kraft stamped
Cost-effective and fast, a one- or two-color kraft stamp reads as eco-forward and considered. It’s the right call for a simple wordmark or icon logo and for brands leaning into a raw, sustainable aesthetic.
White gloss
A coated white base gives full-color art and product photography more contrast and vibrancy than uncoated kraft, without the full cost of edge-to-edge CMYK printing on every panel.
Full-color CMYK
The most expressive option — patterns, gradients, and photography reproduce cleanly edge to edge. It costs the most per unit but does the most brand-building work, especially for social-media-driven unboxing content.
| Style | Relative cost | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Kraft stamp | $ | Simple 1–2 color logos, eco-forward brands |
| White gloss | $$ | Photography, bright palettes |
| Full-color CMYK | $$–$$$ | Patterns, brand-forward launches |
